CRESCENDO research and training Doctoral Programme is focused on multidisciplinary approaches on Microbiome Studies on human, animal, soil, plant, food, environment and marine systems, All approved projects will provide to the recruited PhDs with the necessary scientific knowledge, equipment and infrastructure to support research activities spanning from the observation of natural processes to clinical trials and to investigate the role and the possible use of complex microbial communities. 
CRESCENDO will recruit, and offer, to 10 10 Early-Stage Researchers/PhDs an exciting training path for research in the Microbiome field. The recruited ESRs will be followed in their career development by the multidisciplinary expertise network of the TFM and will be assigned to different PhD Schools according to their specific subject of investigation.
The selection process is based on openness, transparency, merit, impartiality and equality for the candidates according to the Principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. To apply for the Call, candidates must first comply with the programme and Calls’ eligibility and mobility rules.
 

 

ELIGIBILITY OF RESEARCHERS
 

Candidates of all nationalities can apply for the CRESCENDO Call, but when applyng must satisfy the following mobility rules:

 

1. Academic qualifications

Applicants must satisfy the MSCA definition of an Early Stage Researcher (ESR), must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree at the time of CRESCENDO Call deadline. Applicants must hold a relevant European Master degree or equivalent (EQF 7) at the time of the application. His/her educational background should preferably be in Biology, Medicine, Biotechnology, Food, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Chemistry or combinations thereof or others consistent with the scope of the programme.

2.Proof of English

Candidates that are not native English speakers must provide proof of their English language capability as established via an internationally recognised test such as: IELTS: minimum 6.5 for PhD; TOEFL paper test: 550 (TWE 4); TOEFL internet test: 79 (R18, L17, S20, W17). In alternative, candidates have to prove to have a sufficient level of English (e.g., providing a certificate of bilingual studies).

3.Mobility requirements

Applicants must not have lived or carried out their main activity (e.g. study, work, research) in Italy for more than 12 months in the past 3 years immediately prior to the Call deadline.
Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

Less restrictive mobility rule: The time spent in applying for refugee status or found refuge in Europe in accordance with the 1951 Geneva Convention and the 1967 Protocol and career breaks for compulsory military service and vacation leave will not be taken into account.

 
An application will only be considered eligible if :
  1. the application pack is received before the deadline given in the Call text;
  2. the application pack is complete with all requested documents submitted by the given deadline

APPLICATION PACKAGE

The call for recruitment is CLOSED. All applicants will be informed via mail about the eligibility of their candidature by the 15th of July 2022. 

ONLY eligible candidate will progress to remote evaluation followed by the interview, and will be informed accordingly.
